xpro
XPro - a short term for cross process. It is done when slides (positive films) are processed with negative film chemicals, and vice versa. It was the first reason I tried analog photography. It was the first reason I bought my Olympus XA2 - because of its vignetted pictures. I was into Lomo-ish pictures at that time.
I bought a roll of slide film, spent my last summer looking for ideas to shoot anything, so that I could finish the film as soon as possible. I was still an amateur with film. I wanted to see the results right away, so I started wasting about half of the roll with unusable shots. LOL.
Since I couldn’t finish it in time, I brought my camera back to Malaysia. Still couldnt find anything to shoot, I wasted the last frames of shooting ridiculous scenes, objects and other things.
Ive already scanned the film before, but it came out really dull. And I thought “Gee, cross process is really overrated”. I was scanning my b/w films today and thought of scanning the slides again, and this time scanning the film the right way! Before this, I scanned the slides as positive film, and the image came out negative, so I had to inverse them in photoshop. But to find out they came out dull, washed out.
So this time I scanned the slides as color negative filme, so the image came out positive, and “Wow”, the colors are wonderful. And I was totally wrong about cross processing. LOL.
Here are some images, that are usable. Keep in mind, I havent made any adjustments in Photoshop. Enjoy!
